THE POLISH BOY: Following the first two 'Bugger' wars, the Hegemony is desperate to counter the alien threat, as the earth hasn't the resources to repel many more attacks. Their search for brilliant military talent reveals a potential genius in the form of young John Paul Wiggin - Ender Wiggin's father to be. TEACHER'S PEST: John Paul Wiggin is indeed brilliant but is also an unbearably arrogant young man, now a university student. Graduate Theresa Brown, however, may prove his match as they clash socially and intellectually. THE INVESTMENT COUNSELOR: Ender must wander incognito from world to world after banishment from earth as a mass murderer. His reputation as saviour of the human race has been twisted and corrupted since the long-ago Bugger wars and he must shield his identity at all costs. However, he is recognised and blackmailed by a small-time tax collector, who threatens to expose him as Ender, the world killer. ENDER'S GAME: The story of Orson Scott Card's most memorable character in its powerful original novella form.

Review Summary: Explanatins Abound. Fans Only.
Review: This book has five stories in it, and really four of them are the reason to get this stack of short stories. he brief description explains more than I can, but the best story in here is the one of how Ender met Jane. I felt all of the others to be interesting, but that one alone is the biggest reason to purchase this book. Of course, unless you understand the Ender Universe, you may be quite lost with this one.

Review Summary: Orson Scott Card at the beginning of his career- I think.....all of his other books are much better.
Review: I have read the whole Ender series, and the Bean series, the Homecoming series and I'm starting on the Alvin Maker series- they are all great...but, this book...I was disappointed in. If I hadn't read the Ender series, I wouldn't have known what was going on in the novella.

Review Summary: Great way to introduce your child to Ender
Review: I read the Ender short story when it first came out (before the novel) and remembered it when I saw the novel. This collection of short stories, including the original short story version of Ender's Game is a great way to get a young teen interested in the entire set of story's as they grow.

Review Summary: First Meetings--Fills In the Gaps!
Review: The book is awesome--filling in gaps that I didn't even realize were in the Ender books. Two of the three stories are totally brilliant, while the third one is a short-story version of Ender's Game--still very interesting, even if you've read the novel. FIRST MEETINGS IN THE ENDERVERSE is a pretty easy read, making you wish it were much longer. Well worth the money!

Review Summary: Great novellas in the Ender series!
Review: Great little set of Novellas! I bought it because it did include the original Ender's Game Novella--great story! Interesting to see how the characters evolved into the full novel from that Novella. The other short stories were great as well, whether you are versed in the "Enderverse" or not. Highly recommend for easy, yet interesting reading!
