Review Summary: Great book, thanks
Review: I liked this book. It describes psychological situation, in which alien, inserted into human body, instead erasing mind of resistant owner, begin to cooperate with it ( girl Melanie Stryder ) and share her feelings - love to her younger brother Jamie and man Jared, who is very brave and excellent at taking decisions, living underground and raids. They managed to get to people she loves, but those few human survivors rather hate and distrust aliens and do not believe that Melanie is still alive in this form. Wanderer (alien) manages to prove herself to be very decent intelligent being. The book has happy ending: Melanie gets her body back and returns to Jared and Jamie; Wanderer is loved too, has a partner Ian, gets new body and remains with humans on Earth, helping them to survive among dominating aliens.

Review Summary: Good Read A+!
Review: Excellent book. It didn't pull me in as quickly as Meyers Twilight series, but by the end I was sad the book was over. I am hoping for sequels. I would definately recommend this book to anyone!

Review Summary: This book was a surprisingly good read despite the slow beginning
Review: I had bought this book over the summer and got about 150 pages into before I left for college and had to focus on reading for my classes. Over this past Christmas break I got back reading this book and I had good hopes for it because two friends of mine had already finished it. I thought the beginning was slow, but I stuck it out because some of the best books or series start out slow. Once I got half way through the book I started to enjoy it and want to see where these characters were end up. I enjoyed the ending, however I did disagree with the age of what was chosen for Wanderer. It seems that with Breaking Dawn I had the same sort of disagreement with age, but all in all I've liked all of Stephanie Meyer's books. Meyer is very good at developing her characters in a way that everyone can relate to them.

Review Summary: Because I'm over 13, that's why.
Review: If you are a 13 year old girl you'll probably really like this SciFi version of abstinence only alien sex education. But I'm not and so I had to really work to get through it. I actually think Stephenie Meyer is probably a good writer and if she'd leave her preachy morality behind she might write a really good book someday. But she didn't here and the book shows it. The 'heroine' is a sexually frustrated ultimately sacrificing doormat. The story is OK, but was done better by Robert Heinlein in 'The Puppet Masters' and also by Jack Finney in 'The Body Snatchers.' The saccharine ending really put me off, but there you go; novels intended for 13 year old girls have to have happy endings. I seriously cannot recommend this book serious SciFi readers, but for Juvenal readers it is worth the investment. Whatever gets kids reading, even stuff like this deserves some credit.

Review Summary: LOVE Meyer's writing style
Review: I loved this book. I bought it after i finished the Twilight series and was not disappointed. The Host is a great story and I was sad for it to be over, although the ending was good. It started off a little slower than i expected, but picked up quickly. I absolutely love the way Meyer makes u feel like you ARE the narrator. i felt happy when she was happy, cried when she cried. she is a compelling writer and i highly reccommend anything she writes! i cant wait until she writes another piece!!
