This is the first novel in an exciting 3-part odyssey marking Voyager's tenth anniversary, examining causality and effect, and how things aren't always as they appear. Spirits unbroken by the failed promise of the U.S.S. Dauntless, Captain Kathryn Janeway's indefatigable crew continue their odyssey of discovery through an enigmatic region of the Delta Quadrant, encountering a system inhabited by a species that, according to all known physical laws, should not exist. These unusual beings, the Monorhans, hover near the edge of extinction; technology from the Starship Voyager promises life. Janeway, compelled by the aliens' plight, dispatches Seven of Nine and Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres to the Monorhan homeworld. But an unexpected shock wave crashes the shuttle carrying Torres and Seven, catapulting Voyager into a place beyond the fabric of space-time. As B'Elanna and Seven wage an interpersonal war, Voyager struggles to prevail on an extradimensional battleground against an indefinable enemy. But fate has determined that one is inexorable linked to the other: the insurmountable chasm separating Voyager from her lost crew members must be bridged...or all will perish.

Review Summary: Very well done
Review: This book has a solid story line and is written with elegance and technique reminiscent of the best Star Trek episodes. It's one of the better Trek novels that I've read, and a lot of its strengths lie in the fact that all the characters are true to how they are on the TV series.
A great opener to an intriguing trilogy, Book 1: "Cohesion," leaves you with that satisfied feeling of finishing a great novel but also a yearning to know what happens in the next installment.

Review Summary: A Complex Yet Interesting Story
Review: Over the weekend, I read this book and could not put it down(until sleep won that is) and in my opinion, I think this is one of the best VOYAGER novels to come out so far. Jeffrey Lang knows how to write Voyager very well. He has the characters down very well although there were some places where I felt the characters were speaking out of character especially with Neelix.
I did like the swapping of personalities between Torres and Seven. I thought that was hilarious. The scene where the Doc was "missing", reminded me of the scene from "Heroes and Demons". The storyline's very engaging and kept me on the edge of my seat. And since this takes place between the 4th and 5th season, I liked how Lang pitted Seven and Torres together as a way of appreciating each other more.
The Monoharans are an interesting race that I felt were pretty developed and I enjoyed the interaction between Ziv and Janeway. Neelix also had something to do in here and I was happy to see that as I like Neelix very much. All in all, this was a VERY good book. So good that it took me 2 days to read which is a first for me with a Trek book.

Review Summary: Great
Review: I'm writing this after having read all three books in this series many times. I have to say that each time I read them, I love them more. Jeffrey Lang (Heather Jarman wrote ONLY the third book in the series) does a great job with the charcters, really seeming to understand them. I like the little J/C hints and the good relationships the characters have. The storyline seems a little confusing at first, but it is tied up well, and is probably the most tightly woven of the three. It also sets into motion the events for the next two books, and thereby the 5th season as well. Overall, great book, and a must read.

Review Summary: String Theory, Book 1 : Coheshion (Start Trek Voyager)
Review: I have always been a big fan of the Voyager story. I bought this book thinking it was post a post television series book. Much to my surprise, I found out I was wrong. While I admit the first few pages had me wondering why I had bought the book I soon came to realize this was an awesome story. I got so engrossed in the story. I have to say I was overwhelmed at how Heather Jarman, the author of the series, had set this tale in between seasons of the show. Better yet, she begins to answer some questions of .. What happened to ............. All I can say is, Heather thanks for one of the most enjoyable Voyager stories I have ever read. Could it get better...... well she also wrote two more books to round out the story. I won't comment on the details of the story as I don't want to spoil anything. If you are a Voyager Fan. This book....This three part series is a must read.

Review Summary: ST: Voyager String Theory Book 1 Cohesion
Review: Star Trek: Voyager String Theory Book 1 Cohesion written by Jeffrey Langis a well-wrtten book with the characters in the Voyager series are the best wriiten characterizations yet. Cohesion is the first story in a trilogy that involves the String Theory title. The second book is Fusion and the third is Evolution written by Kirsten Beyer and Heather Jarman respectively. I waited to read this series until I had all three volume in front of me and then I read them straight though. Although each book is written as a stand alone title they subsequent books draw from the first book, Cohesion and they make perfect sense reading one right after the other.
Jeffrey Langs characterization are true Voyager and the interplay between B'Elanna Torres and Seven of Nine is a classic as they really get to know each other as they work on an away mission together. As there was no love lost between them, they get to know eack other very well as the story unfolds.
Kathryn Janeway in her quest to leave the Delta Quadrant comes across an interesting binary system and takes a detour to investigate this interesting star formation and this is where the story gets intrigingly interesting. As there is life there that shouldn't be there in the first place Janeway has to assist as one of the Monorhan space craft is disabled in space and hover on the brink of extinction.
The story is well-written and moves quickly as the action-adventure takes hold of the reader and you read on at a blistering pace. I found the book to be a very fast read with all of the interaction and interplay between the characters. There is plenty of suspense and action well-written in this book to keep the reader well satisfied.
There are pandemensional beings and a real-life struggle for survival written in this book. Cohesion is action-packed as well keeping the readers attention well to the end.
This is a solid five star Trek adventure that will keep the reader engrossed to the end , you won't be disappointed. This is a well-written first volley into the trilogy call String Theory.
